Green Career Trends: Energy Storage to Grow to $10 Billion by 2015, Idaho to Build Large Wind Farm, Top 56 Green Careers

According to research firm, SBI Energy, the worldwide market for energy storage could grow more than 15% per year to over $10 billion in 2015.  Utilities have multiple challenges, among them are the need to meet renewable energy portfolio standards and keep a constant supply of power for consumers.  Increasing energy storage capabilities can smooth out the intermittent nature of wind and solar power.

GE Energy Financial Services is one of the partners in the 183 megawatt Idaho Wind Partners Project that will bring 122, 1.5 megawatt wind turbines to 10,000 acres in Southern Idaho. When construction is completed, the wind farm is expected to produce enough power for 39,700 Idaho homes.
